Yoga Therapy for Stress & Anxiety

Complete Book Of Mindful Living

It was a joy working on this mindfulness and meditation guide with Llewellyn Worldwide Publishers and many of their talented authors. There are a plethora of useful ideas and lifestyle techniques you can begin to implement today to bring greater consciousness into the everyday. In addition to being the “host” of the book, I also wrote about introductory mindfulness practices and their measurable effect on the brain and nervous system (Chapter 1).

The chapter I wrote with Bob Butera, PhD, on “Mindfulness for Sleep and Physical Relaxation” will support many people in getting more rest while my piece relating “Mindfulness and Illness, Chronic Conditions, and Pain Relief” (Chapter 9) is especially close to my heart, as it features not only clear ways you can cope with (or even remove) chronic pain, but also an excerpt written by one a longtime, loyal member of our therapeutic yoga community in Ontario. I’d love to bring a workshop about mindfulness and living in the present moment to your community. Contact me to learn more about hosting an event in your space!

Yoga Therapy for Stress & Anxiety

I am so pleased to share this new book with you! Everyone feels stress at least sometimes.

Some people are chronically stressed and, as a recovering stress addict, I know it’s no way to live. I’m thrilled to offer you Yoga Therapy for Stress and Anxiety, which was written with the average person in mind. You don’t need any yoga experience to enjoy this book, just a desire to free yourself from stress! Personal reflection, practical exercises, yoga techniques and modern science blend together to give you tools to not just manage but actually transform your stress! Yoga Therapy for Stress and Anxiety empowers you to create your own action plan, so you are applying what you know you actually need and are enthusiastic to do. This book is the result of four years of collaboration and brainstorming about the best ways to bring deep yogic concepts to the everyday person. My friend, PhD Yoga Therapist Bob Butera provided a great deal of wisdom from his one-on-one studies in India and Associate Professor of Physical Therapy Staffan Elgelid, PhD reminded us again and again about how the body itself can be reconditioned so that it is not so affected by anxiety and stress.

Whether your anxiety arises from your thinking patterns, relationships, genetics, work, lifestyle habits, or a pervasive sense that you are not safe, Yoga Therapy for Stress and Anxiety addresses stress at its roots and teaches you how to weed it out. You can begin reading this book anywhere, which means you can jump right in to the section most relevant for you! Let me know how it’s working for you and remember you can enhance the benefits by attending a workshop with me . I look forward to meeting you soon!
