About Erin Byron, MA, RP,C-IAYT, YACEP

Erin Byron is a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Yoga Therapist who has been working in the field of trauma for over 30 years. To complete her Master’s Degree, she designed and ran a two-arm randomized yoga therapy. Participants from a sexual assault crisis centre in Tkaronto (Toronto) found relief in many areas of life due to the yoga movements, breathwork and relaxation. Now, Erin offers professional education, clinical supervision, and therapy to yoga and mental health professionals in addition to supporting executives and schoolteachers in working with traumatized staff and students. 

Certified Yoga Therapist 

Erin is a co-founder of IAYT-accredited Comprehensive Yoga Therapist Training and founder of Trauma Aware Certified Yoga Training. She has been leading yoga retreats for two decades and has certified hundreds of yoga and meditation teachers and therapists.

Trainer/Supervisor for Holistic Health Professionals

Erin does one-on-one and group work with mental health workers, yoga therapists, and other holistic health professionals. She offers professional education, clinical supervision, and psychotherapy. Erin also supports executives and schoolteachers in working with traumatized staff and students, to bring a more peaceful, productive, and balanced culture to the office and classroom. 

Erin has co/authored several books in the field of mental and physical health. Her most recent book, Safety in the Body: Foundations in Mental Health Recovery through Yoga Therapy, Expressive Arts and Neurophysiology, is set to drop in May, 2024.. Yoga Therapy for Arthritis, a co-authorship with lead researcher Dr. Steffany Moonaz, highlights the importance of mental health and yoga for those living with chronic conditions. Yoga for the Creative Soul, is about to release its 2nd Edition. It marries yoga philosophy, practice, and expressive arts counselling, and was named one of Aspire Magazine’s Top 10 Inspiring books. Her previous collaborations include Yoga Therapy for Stress & Anxiety, Llewellyn#39’s Complete Book of Mindful Living, and Yoga Therapy: Theory Practice.
